Thebans vs Alexandrian Macedonians - posted by Josh Barton, 28 May 2020

A second week of gaming with Vince, this time reliving the battle of Chaeronea in 240 points early Macedonian imperial vs Thebans and Athenians. While Michael Stonyer
took the role of an attache for some Italian state called 'Rome' (it'll never amount to anything).
Unfortunately game was even more of a stuffing than in history - the Greek cavalry immediately collapsed, losing three Cav(O) and Ps(S) to Cav(I) in 2 bounds and breaking. Opening up a gap next to where the Athenians held off Alexander and the companions while the Thebans pushed into Philip's hypastists.
The Greeks pushed back the Macedonians elsewhere, however despite 4 bounds of hard-flanking the pike general and repeatedly getting overlaps with the sacred band against Philip, the Thebans failed to kill anything more than one pike and one hypastist.
The delay lasted long enough for Alexander and the companions to break through the Athenian line, breaking the Greeks and securing a 25 - 0 victory
