Bit of an odd question, but on page 8 of the rulebook it states that Ps(X) "are treated in all circumstances as Psiloi (I), expect that they substitute Artillery (I) distant combat factors and effect when in close combat to their front against any but Auxilia or Psiloi."
What does that mean if they lose - do they "stand and cannot move and shoot until after own next bound if it was shot at in distant combat" (as per Artillery p. 39) or do they count as Psiloi if they lose?
Similarly with Light Horse in Difficult Going - do the LH die (as against foot) or are they spent (as train/naval)?

Dirk Heinsius They behave totally as Ps(I), but use Artillery shooting factors for Close Combat.
Opponents take a close combat result as if facing artillery, but the Psiloi take close combat results as Psiloi.
Effectively their opponents are being hit with grenades, and react as such.…See More
Dirk Heinsius re: the LH, I would say spent using the same logic. Think of their nerve being broken after having explosions, or swarming hornets around them, and not being able to ride away.

Josh Barton yep! 0 - 1, although I think they're meant to be bomb-throwers/grenadiers
John Garvey For my Amazonians the blowpipe men are the most powerful in the army!
Josh Barton good to know! I wasn't sure how good they'd be
