  • Vincent Cholewa Nice. Where are the bows?
  • Dirk Heinsius Half way between the UK and here, they will be attached to their backs later

    • Vincent Cholewa Dirk Heinsius bugger. A bit like my Old Glory order that left the United States post Chicago international depot in May 10. It is en route. Phil Gates reckons the next bottleneck in their journey will be the backlog at the Auckland postal warehouse.
    • Dirk Heinsius Vincent Cholewa I’ve just had a package arrive from the States tracked. 23 days in total, 9 days of which was transit from LAX to AKL, suspect the delay was Auckland. Normal delivery time from that supplier is 10 days total

    • Vincent Cholewa Dirk Heinsius likewise Old Glory in the pre-COVID-19 world was about 10 days from leaving their office to delivery.

John van den Hoeven The way it's going, all our figures in the mail will be a while longer. I've been waiting nearly 6 weeks for at least one order.

Best way to get figures off bases? Posted by Phil Gates

A question for the wise. I have a small Macedonian army based for Impetus on mdf bases, that I either want to rebase for DBMM. What's the best way to get the figures off the bases? Will soaking them in water for a while weaken the hold of the mdf and glue?

John Garvey Yes, the best advice is to put them in a tray of water just deep enough to cover the bases. Leave overnight and the figs should just pop off.

  • Philip Gates Thanks. I was hoping something like that might work.
  • John Garvey Interestingly I used to base using epoxy on cardboard bases, and the same technique worked. Except the bases dissolved and the figs ended up having a little plinth of epoxy!
  • John Garvey And also a good reason why to base figs using white glue (wood glue)

  • James Trotman If you used superglue you can hold the figures base with a pair of needle nose pliers and the unit base in the other hand and give it a sharp twist - should come off clean. CA glue has very little torsional strength.

Looking for a game of DBMM 200 - posted by Bruce Ferguson, 23 May 2020

I think I'm in need of a level 2 gaming fix. Anyone interested in a home game over the next couple of weeks? I have a 6x4 table at my place in Khandallah so I guess can do DBM200 or I can come to you. Most evening are ok, weekend afternoons as well unless the weather is unusually good for this time of year.
