Not DBMM but we are working towards it.

James Davies and I played 4 games of DBA on Saturday.

First game was my wars of the Roses English vs Medieval French.

The French dismounted half their knights and attacked the English lines. The found themselves out flanked and in a crossfire of the English longbows. It was an English victory.

Round 2 was a rematch but with all the French dismounting. The attacked past a wood which the English tried to use to set up another crossfire. The French were able to overpower the English left and almost broke them. It was an English victory but only just.

Round 3 was Later Imperial Roman vs my Carthiginians. The Carthiginians broke the Roman lines with their elephant, only to find it double overlapped and fighting Auxiliary. The elephant was killed and my general surrounded and killed. The game was a loss.

Round 4 was a rematch. The Romans had Town in their centre and steep hills in their deployment zone. They had to advance out and expand. The Carthiginians tried to catch them in column and keep them contained. Some poor dice rolling saw the Carthiginians lose some cavalry and skirmishers. Although I had lost 3 elements (DBA armies break on 4) it was a Carthiginian victory.

4 very enjoyable games 3 of which were very close (the winner had lost 3 elements).

We are definitely playing again soon and looking to also get into DBMM once I get some more painting done and my rules arrive.

DBA 3 is a great system, and one of its benefits is you can easily play a pairs of games for rematches in an afternoon or evening
