This week I also solved a problem I was having transporting my heavy infantry. These are all metal figures are top heavy on 20mm deep bases I tended to find many had fallen over each trip.
So last weekend I sketched a design and asked Rob West from Rob’s High Tech carving to laser cut me a movement tray from MDF to hold 20 bases. He came back within an hour with a drawing and I asked him to do the job.
It arrived this week and after gluing it I gave it a test. It works (pretty heavy though with 80 metal figures).
As a bonus I have 20 more 20mm x 60mm MDF bases that were cut out of the frame.

Nick BuckbyMagnetic strips on bases are a more common fix
Russell BriantNick Buckby agree. Much bigger job to add to bases though.
However would welcome guidance on sources of magnetic material to do that.
Nick BuckbyRussell Briant haven’t bought any for years as some local lad was selling them, but now this place looks the go:
Bound to be some other suggestions.
Steven HillI'm not looking forward to figuring how to transport my army when it is finished especially since I need to fly to get anywhere
Steven HillI have some ideas about a custom carry on but I'll wait till I finish.
Bryan FowlerSearch for Magnetic sheets on Trademe and you will find Southern Magnets in Dunedin. A4 sheets that they post up in a standard large envelope
Ben VartokBryan Fowler I use those on the bases then into a metal tool box. Or another A4 sheet on the base of a cardboard file box.
