Seleucids - shared by Ben Vartok, 29 march 2022

Just great looking eye tikka masala! I like the use of the shield transfers on the elephant blankets rather than the very expensive transfers you can buy. Disclaimer: this is not my painting, I only wish it were so.

Elephants by Aventine Miniatures. Resin Bodies with metal crew and howdah etc.

The complete army. Figures are better than my poor pictures show!
It consists of 12xAgema, 12x mercenary heavy cavalry, 16x Romanised Infantry, 48x heavy pikemen, 16x Galatians, 12x Thracians, 2x elephants, and 3x command stands.
All figures are Aventine Miniatures and sculpted by me. All but the Galatians were painted by me. Spears by Northstar and transfers LBM.
Price for the army is £1200 plus postage
Command stand with General of the infantry plus guard, musician and standard bearer. The army is Late Seleucid and ideal for fighting Republican Romans and other late Hellenistic kingdoms. Many of the units could be used in a good many other armies.

Commander of the Cavalry.

I did freehand blankets on two elephants and would probably not do it again if a transfer was available.
      No photo description available.
