Points and terrain - asked by Daniel Wade, 10 April 2022

Since I am actually getting somewhere with my 1st DBMM Army some questions have occurred to me. I need to plan the remaining points so what is the norm for games?
Competition games seem to be 220 points with Terrain provided?
Club games are in the 400 to 450 range, is the Terrain included in the Armies list or is that extra?

I bought some Hovels buildings and Acheson fortifications so will have to work out how large a settlement to model. Other things like roads, fields and woods I can use from my other collections.

Depends where you are Dan. Most MM games are played at 450 or 400 points. With the occasional games played at 220. Or MM200. But only a couple of times a year.
Unless it is a MM200 comp, most people play at 400+.
      Some play 220 at home.
Depends where you are and who you play with.

The available terrain is listed with the army, so you choose from your own list (if you're defending), or your opponent's list (if you're attacking). Some people bring a trolley to load all their terrain...

Hi Dan, most NZ competitions using the DBMM 200 variant of the rules have been 240AP.
Advice about terrain is choose well to use for your advantage and your opponent’s disadvantage. If you are invading you get to use up to 2FE of terrain from your opponent’s list. When defending you get to choose 2-4FE from your own list. If the invader does not use all 2FE they are allowed, the defender gets to the unused FE added to their maximum. That is the defender can choose up to 4+ FE.
