The line up for the nationals. Shared by Vince Cholewa, 13 April 2022

DBMM nationals, update from Richard Foster:
Greetings everyone,
The army lists have been checked and some were even correct second time round. Poor old Dave Kinzett has had to pull out for family reasons. As a result, and many thanks to Al Duncan, we have some replacements (and thanks to them too). On Saturday morning Richard Mason is playing and in the afternoon Mark Pickup will magically appear. Sunday will see the arrival of Josh Barton for rounds 3 and 4. I have no idea what armies the first two are bringing or how big they are, 400 or 450, so please bear with us on that one. Josh is bringing the 100YW English! With regard to the draw the replacements will be treated as one team, The Gang of three (TGo3)). There has also been a slight change to the seeding.
1. Peter Noble
2. Ivan Truong
3. Me
4. Benny
5. Alastair Duncan
6. Russell Bryant, elevated off the bench….
I have adjusted the draw slightly to cope with the unknown army….basically I have seen all your armies so I think it only fair I play the one I have not. My list is attached for your admiration.
Remember the games are 0900-1300 and 1400-1800.
I am also organising a dinner for Saturday and, if there is enough interest, for Sunday night as well. Please let me know if you are keen.
There are trophies for
1st
2nd
3rd
Best army
General slayer
Baggage looter
I am organising some prizes from Kapiti Hobbies too.
See you all there on Saturday morning.

For my opponent, to the tune of "men of Harlech"
What's the use of wearing braces?
Spats and hats and boots with laces?
Vests and pants you buy in places
    Down on Brompton Road?
What's the use of shirts of cotton?
    Studs that always get forgotten?
    These affairs are simply rotten,
    Better far is woad.
Woad's the stuff to show men.
    Woad to scare your foemen.
Boil it to a brilliant hue
And rub it on your back and your abdomen.
Ancient Briton ne'er did hit on
Anything as good as woad to fit on
Neck or knees or where you sit on.
    Tailors you be blowed!!
    Romans came across the channel
All dressed up in tin and flannel
Half a pint of woad per man'll
    Clothe us more than these.
Saxons you can waste your stitches
Building beds for bugs in britches
We have woad to clothe us which is
    Not a nest for fleas
    Romans keep your armours.
    Saxons your pyjamas.
Hairy coats were made for goats,
Gorillas, yaks, retriever dogs and llamas.
March on Snowdon with your woad on,
Never mind if you get rained or snowed on
Never want a button sewed on.
    Go it Ancient Bs!!

By any chance is that Richard Mason a person who used to run a Play-by-mail games company from Wellington? Would be over 50. Wondering.
