SOME SASSANID PROGRESS

Finished the immortals finally. Been a bit slow but I have finished all the horses - just need to paint 16 more elements of riders!

The next lot should be easier.

  Thanks for all of the great comments. One question for my next purchase from the history folks here, Aventine Sassanid infantry are really different from the Gripping Beast "round hat" and hide shield infantry. Is there a right way to go with these figures historically?

    I'm not fully up with the details, but I believe that the consensus is that Sassanid "globe" hats are out, (much like the ubiquitous red tunic for Roman Legionaries), but this takes awhile to filter through figure manufacturers.

      Steven Hill both Ps(O) and Hd(O) have their uses. Both are cheap and only 1/2ME, so not so bad if you lose them. Ps are great in terrain, can be a bloody nuisance delaying close order foot against who many losing outcomes are spent and don’t count as …
