What will the next DBMM video be? Posted by Al Donald, 12 August 2021

Hi Vinnie, I haven't seen any Mellish instructional videos since mid July. Has he been COVID-19ed in the UK? I'm sure there was more coming.

Just some tight PhD deadlines and then seeing family from overseas for the first time in 18 months. Final video on Commanders will come out this weekend, then the next set of videos will return in mid-September after a short holiday!

Vincent Cholewa Probably unsurprisingly history, although a lot more modern than the period covered by DBMM. The history of the emergence of post-colonial states 1945-1980s, and the international institutions they built (Like the Non-Aligned Movement)

Vincent Cholewa The question I feel the world has been tackling for the last century if not more. The interesting question of my research is looking at how consensus was built within the post-colonial world around that question, and where the post-colo…

Jack Basu Mellish was consensus ever reached between indigenous people and colonisers? By its nature colonisation was hardly about consensus. What follows seems to be attempts at justification or denial of the harm done. You may find I am more left than many wargamers! I have emailed to you a link to an interview that I find hopeful about a better, post-colonial, future.

Vincent Cholewa In this case my work focuses primarily on post-colonial states that do not have large white settler populations. (Particularly members of the Non-Aligned Movement during the Cold War, which had no members with dominant colonizer populat…

Jack Basu Mellish good on you and hang in there. My wife is a sociologist and is Dr Hughes. I have seen the effort her PhD took and I have neither the nous nor perseverance to do that. All the very best for your study, and for not getting a severe dose of COVID ðŸ¤ž
