Umbrian kickstarter, walled structures - posted by Yohan Riso, 21 September 2026

Here is an example of an ancient polygonal wall such as those that could be found in Umbria during the 4th century BC.
This type of fortification made use of the natural terrain to control high ground, valleys, and the main routes through the Apennines, particularly around centres such as Iguvium, Tuder, Ameria, and Spoletium.
Further east, these routes connected the interior of Italy with the territories of the modern Marche region and the Adriatic coast, reaching areas around Ancona.
The model shown here is not a reconstruction of a specific archaeological site, but an interpretation designed to represent this type of fortification within the context of our Umbrian campaign.

The structure can be assembled in different ways, allowing you to create several wall and gate configurations.

@highlight The Polygonal Wall — A First Look
Here is a first look at the polygonal wall structure included in the campaign.
The structure shown in these pictures is one possible configuration. The different sections can be assembled in several ways, allowing you to create different shapes and layouts depending on how you arrange the pieces.
To give you an idea of the scale, the gate is 2.2 cm high.
The building was printed in FDM using a 0.2 mm nozzle.
There are still 10 days left before the campaign ends!
I would also like to sincerely thank all the backers who are already supporting the project. It is thanks to you that Rise Miniatures can continue developing these historical ranges and bringing new projects to life.
Thank you for being part of this adventure!
