NatCon 8-9 April 2023 - postred by Andrew Bennetts, 28 July 2022

SAVE THE DATE!!!
2023 National 25mm Ancients Tournament - 8-9 April
The 2023 NZ National 25mm Ancients Tournament will be run on its traditional Easter date, 8th and 9th April 2023, with the fabled(?) Shell Case Trophy up for grabs once again.
Allen Yaxley has kindly pre-booked the St Brendan's venue in Upper Hutt and yours truly will be Registrar, List Checker and Umpire, playing as required to even up numbers and avoid byes.
Numbers permitting, we would like to again offer two playing Pools, although the playing conditions will be slightly different for each.
Pool 1: Armies BEFORE 1071 - Default 400AP or 450AP by mutual agreement
Pool 2: Armies FROM 1071 - Default 450AP or 400AP by mutual agreement
Each Pool will have its own set of trophies, with the Shell Case being awarded to the winner of the larger Pool.
Each Pool will require a minimum of 8 registrations. If either Pool falls short, then a single combined event will be run with suitably modified playing conditions.

Full details to follow in due course but start planning - 8 months is enough time to even paint a new army (or in Al Duncan's case, 3!)

I think you are taking a hit for the team nobly, but unwisely.
Defend the damn thing. It’s very satisfying when it happens.

Alastair Duncan, three new armies? That's a conservative estimate!

Hmmm might have the Feudal Spanish done by then. I don't think Darius would be up to an open comp.

Checking with the boss. If we go ahead, could I borrow an army?

Absolutely! You would be most welcome and we would happily arrange an army. I have six to choose from and my collection is little compared to some ðŸ™‚
