Auckland Cup Day 2
As a bit of light relief, day 2 was a massive 600AP and 4 player a side player game played on a 12x5 foot table. The game featured an Assyrian invasion of the Philistines who were supported by some Kushite Egyptian allies.
Philip Abela provided all the Philistines, Kushites and Egyptians while Richard Foster and John Calnan provided the Assyrians. A highlight of the game was the cross table banter and light hearted trash talk between the two teams.
In playing terms the game was dominated by John Calnan and his appropriately purple and gold dice that enabled the Assyrian chariots to carve their way through the allied centre. Grant Brown, who was commanding the unfortunate Kushite Egyptians, has since confiscated the offending six sided item for detailed forensic (and likely destructive) analysis!

You needed Lord Byron commanding the allied army then the widows of Ashur would indeed have been loud in their wail.
