Dirk's day job "Weatherscape" - shared by Vince Cholewa, 28 November 2019

This is what Dirk Heinsius (a.k.a. Dirkses King of Kings) does. He develops the “Weatherscape” software that takes all forms of weather information (radar, data from balloons, observations etc.) and turns it into a single set of easily understandable graphics and moving pictures. Then he travels to help New Zealand MetService’s overseas customers set it up in their countries. Pretty cool, eh 😎

Al Jazeera will use weather graphics software developed by [New Zealand] MetService at its base in Kelburn for its bulletins worldwide.

  • Russell Briant Well maybe over Scotland but not in northern Italy...

  • John Edmundson I thought someone had snapped a pick of Dirkses planning his campaign of world domination, starting with the establishment of a satrap in France and Italy!
