Syrians vs Sicilians - posted by Ben Vartok, 30 June 2026

The Ponsonby DBMM Wargames Club has opened this week but only for one week. On Monday I played Benny in the trendy inner city. My Syrians had their second outing and covered themselves with something, not glory that was Benny's Sicilians.
Apparently a brave fool takes two Ally generals so not sure what that makes me taking 3 ally generals into battle. And of course two were unreliable from the first pip dice roll including the Late Crusader Allies who are the main fighting force. The Turkomans hooned off like a boy/girl racer in an RX7 and promptly got into trouble with a Hail Mary charge far too early and without Cav support.
So started bad, a brief period of success including disheartening one of Benny's commands, and then got worser and worser. The Turkomans broke, the unreliable Syrian ally became disheartened and the C n C's command got nailed by Benny's flank march.
I am beginning to wonder if a low aggression army with 3 ally generals is a competition army or not?!
Expect further updates from Benny who has two more games this week as part of the "Weekend At Benny's" Series.

Vincent Cholewa
Great looking armies and game.
Considering your question: low aggression gives you more influence over terrain and, usually, the first bound; three ally generals gives you heart palpitations!
