Question: how to represent early Berber slingers - posted by Karl Muskee, 27 June 2026

Evening all, I'm building a classic Arab 28mm army and would like to know what the hive mind uses to represent the early Berber slinger, a man that doesn't have to debate what particular loincloth he'll be wearing today or if it clashes with his other fashion choices of a string of leather and carefully selected rocks

The answer might be in here. I don’t have a copy but Dirk Heinsius and others do. Is this the right period for your army?

Karl Muskee and I misread. For some reason I was thinking Bedouin but you asked about Berbers.

Karl Muskee What army are you looking at. I've got quite a range of STL files for Biblical allies for my Assyrians, and I'm starting on Islamic Berbers, so I may have something there as well.

Dirk Heinsiusthank you..I was looking at pre-islamic Arabs, the slingers are basically naked except for their loincloth and a sling 😄

I'm afraid that I don't have anything generic. I'm assuming you want something like this guy but with a sling. I might take it on as a sculpting project when I have time.

Just thrown together something from my bits box as a proof of concept, needs a lot of work but does this fit the idea.

I’ve just used the Gripping Beast Arabs…the (European) Dark Age warrior box comes with slings so…

Greek Beleric or even Numidian Slingers would probably work fine.

In case these are any inspiration, these are my Bedouin slingers for my Mitanni army.
