Renowned classist and historian, Dame Mary Beard, is coming to New Zealand and Australia in November. Professor Beard is a knowledgeable, accessible, at times challenging, and most entertaining specialist on Ancient Rome.
Some of the stuff Professor Beard does: She is a trustee of the British Museum and formerly held a personal professorship of classics at the University of Cambridge. She is a fellow of Newnham College, Cambridge, a Royal Academy of Arts Professor of Ancient Literature and classics editor of The Times Literary Supplement, for which she also writes a regular blog, "A Don's Life".
