2. Artillery has a threat zone, but cannot charge. Which is the requirement that prevents movement through a TF. Therefore, does Artillery TF prevent movement by an opponent?

Good questions, Phil. I would say, no, unmanned TF do not have a threat zone and, yes, artillery do have a threat zone.
If it’s not an element, it doesn’t have a threat zone.
P.11, Fortifications, paragraph 1, includes the sentence, “A fortification notionally consists of 80p sections (which are not elements).”
The description of threat zone on p.32 lists which elements’ TZ does not constrain your movement. They are: Hordes (I), baggage or a routing element.
Vincent Cholewa but, the threat zone reflects an area from which an element can be charged. Artillery cannot move into contact, do can't charge.
Philip GatesBowmen can't charge mounted either. I think a TZ is an area in which the element exerts additional influence - including shooting you.
Barry Norris the wording on page 32 is "The space immediately in front of an element in which real life opponents would risk being charged suddenly at a disadvantage if they attempt to maneuver is called the Threat Zone [TZ]."
What risk is there of being charged by Artillery?
Philip Gates none, but also no risk of being charged by baggage or a routing element, which are listed as two of the three exceptions. I think it is unfortunate, unnecessary wording that has added a question to what would otherwise have been a simple rule.

Also baggage and routers do have a TZ, it just doesn't constrain your movement.
