Mike (Middle Imperial Romans) played Barry Norris (Sicilian Normans), ending in a draw. Mike described it as the problem of a cavalry army versus an infantry army wedged into the scenery.
He also reported: "The principal antagonists of that other Norman invasion of Egypt
last Saturday were William the Bastard or as he later became known by the Anglo
Saxons, William the complete Bastard. He was played by none other than the mighty Paul Graham. His opposite on the battlefield, that King of Kings, was of course none other than that great Pharaoh, Mr Richard (Rameses) Mason
