Out of the DBMM period, I know, but we could pretend for the earliest barbarian list. And, besides, this exhibition at Auckland Museum sounds really cool. If anyone on the group has been or is going comments or posts would be most welcome. Also, are pics allowed?

John EdmundsonNot really out of period since it survived into period :^)
Ben VartokIt's only a model....at the Auckland Museum. Wife took our daughter along and really enjoyed it. We walked around the real one in Albion when we lived in Oxford for a couple of years. It was pretty amazing though you are kept quite far from it and the
busy roads either side spoil the atmosphere somewhat.
Dave MadiganBen Vartok the Stonehenge experience is very different these days. The roads have been diverted and the car and coach park with an excellent visitor centre and museum is situated in a hollow so is not visible in the same view as the stones. At the same
place is a reconstruction of an ancient village. Shuttle buses take you to the start of the walking trail around the Henge with duckboard planking all around. There are info plaques dotted around too. You are not permitted into the stones but the perimeter is reasonably close.
