Rules question (and I have looked in the usual places):
Can an ally general bring TF from his own list along with him, e.g. when specified as 0-12 in his own list?
The allies section of the rules only mentions troop types which are allowed.
Neil WilliamsonAn ally can only bring compulsory troop types. So in this case, 0-12, the TF is not compulsory and so cannot be taken.2- Like

- Russell BriantNeil Williamson the exceptions might be anything that is proportioned as part of a compulsory type you can take like TF for a camp or artillery.1

- Peter S. TarasovOn a related note, can an allied general bring his army's own kind of baggage, or must his contingent subsist on what the main army can provide?

Active - Andrew BennettsThis question is a little tricky as, while an Ally is restricted to compulsory troop types, TF are not in fact 'Troops' as per the definitions on p4, they come under the heading of Fortifications (p11). I'd be tempted to allow it, possibly restricted to up to 1/3 the number specified. But it is a grey area.1

- Daniel WadeI've been struggling with reading the lists. What does a * mean next to an Ally General which then has a * next to a choice ie Galley? does it mean both have to be taken together?

- Daniel WadeYou know how many times I've read that and its not sunk in! Got it now. Been reading too many other lists trying to decide what to do with some figures I bought on a whim.
