In search of measuring sticks - posted by Julian Hannam, 11 October 2021

Good Morning everyone! Measuring sticks! Keith V Trye and I have been using his arsenal of wooden measuring sticks. I’m wondering what other options people come up with? I’ve seen some pre-printed measuring sticks/cards with paces and unit types marked on them. These any good? Or do folks just end up using the stick arsenal?

There was a UK company doing brass sets for 40 squid plus huge postage....or my hack was to use surplus laser cut bases with a bit of glue and cut a bit of magnet to fit underneath = stick upgrade with 80pace markings. Or Dopey Dog have made sets locally for some gamers.

Motherboard spacers from an electrical supplier, I believe this is how the brass sets are made

Litko make them. There was a company in the UK which also produced MDF ones, but that has been sold off and I don't think the measuring sticks were included in the deal. Products for Wargamers - also in the UK - also do some measuring sticks for under the 40 quid quoted by Ben Vartok.

The motherboard spacers are mainly for 15mm, as they are 38mm long with added small washer 40mm. Which is suitable for 80paces in 15mm scale.
