Before plunging into the next big project I've been working through some backlog items for different parts of my collection.
Its always fun for an army to have some custom baggage specific to it and so here are two little vignettes for Polybian Romans and Anglo-Normans respectively.
The Romans are a set from Agema Miniatures, these days available through Footsore Miniatures, and show a bull being led to the altar for sacrifice. The on-looking Consul's body language suggests the priests had better come up with the right result!
Anglo-Normans represent the Empress Matilda and her entourage observing operations during the civil war between her (as the daughter and surviving heir of King Henry I) and her cousin, Stephen of Blois, who had usurped the English throne. I don't think there is any evidence that Matlida was actually present at any of the actions during "The Anarchy" but hey.........
The tent and Matilda herself were kind donations from Philip Abela, the other figures are from Reconquest Designs, printed by our good friends at Potbelly Miniatures
