On the painting table: Ghurids - posted by Ben Vartok, 14 October 2026

Ghurids finished and ready for Heavycon at Pukekohe next weekend. Expansion project for the Ghaznavids that started with the words “if I just…” and ended 47 elements later. Ready for the brief varnishing Auckland weather window before the humidity begins. Huge license taken with the Karwahs and pikes in general✊🏽

    I love the dudes with the wheeled barricades. Are they horde? If they are not, then I have probably seriously insulted them!

    Vincent Cholewa Bloodfeud it is…..not horde, they are Irreg Pike X. They were meant to have worn heavy felt armour, the Karwah, but there are a few interpretations with wheeled barricades being one. I had a bunch of old chariots and green stuffed the plain ones with a leather pattern.

    Richard Foster All in the game yo! This better captures the paint selection. Though remember I am colourblind and don’t mix paints. So each triad is ONE colour for me - base, mid, highlight hence the rubber bands.
