DBMM 100 in Horowhenua - posted by Vince Cholewa, 6 August 2024

From the Wargaming in Horowhenua Facebook group: On Sunday at Levin East School, Chris Blackler, Late Imperial Romans and I, Early Imperial Romans, played our first ever game of DBMM 100. David and Samuel Taylor sat in on the game. It’s a nice system.

Our armies were similar sizes to their equivalent DBA armies. I think armies organised around cheap warband or similar would be about double the size of a DBA army and those organised around something like regular knights would be a little smaller.
Neil Williamson has invited a Horowhenua team to a DBMM 100 day in March at the Hutt Valley Wargaming Club in Trentham. It will be a team event, including teams from Horowhenua, Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Wellington. We are keen!

The first game of DBMM 100 for both Chris Blackler Late Imperial Roman and Vincent Cholewa Early Imperial Roman. At this stage the EI Roman attempted cavalry attack on the flank at the bottom of the picture has failed. The clue is there are no cavalry in this pic! Meanwhile my push in the centre has made inroads - that is a difficult hill on the right and a vineyard on the left. We called the game a draw ðŸ˜Š
