    Allen Yaxley these days I’m undercoating in grey then putting a contrast paint dark grey (Citadel Contrast Basilicanum Grey) which leaves a dark line against all the edges an crevices.

    See photo of undercoated and contrast washed Balearic.

    Then I paint all the areas that aren’t those dark lines and crevices. Leaves dark lines.

    In the olden days I’d have achieved the same with a solid black undercoat but this new way makes it easier to see we’re the lines to be left are.
