In 1913, H.G. Wells invented a tabletop war game called ‘Little Wars’. The subtitle of the rulebook was ‘a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books’.

Mark MuirI use an apapted set of rules called Little Big Wars..more cannon fire and melee is fought with paper scissors rock.. winner is player whose partner/ mother etc provides the best snacks..
