Crusaders vs Andalusians - posted by Ben Vartok, 5 March 2023

Pukekohe was unavailable today so Benny hosted me at the AWC for a 450 point hitout. Benny put his new Andulusians on the table and I countered with Early Crusaders 1098. The Terrain dice were great and the Crusaders had a couple of nice hills to defend but I was not ready for El Cid who completed his flank march in the first bound. Meant the Crusader left flank had to circle wagons and fend from many directions. The Crusaders stabalised the situation and were even looking to get the upper hand but in the end El Cid led a magnificent charge personally killing a Crusader sub general while two other crusader knights also sucumbed in the same bound.
Compounding this was the fact that the Early Crusader Irreg Bw I were the best performing troops, shooting and killing more Andulusians than the Knights and Blade S combined.

Great game Benny, thank you. Oh and great looking army as well!

Ben was very unlucky. His Reg Bd(S) got into their preferred prey of Sp(I) and his crossbows were working like HIMARS missiles, taking out anything that came into their range. Meanwhile, skillful, maneuvering was preventing El Cid's Kn(F) getting the first charge against the heavier Crusader Kn. However, the Bd(S) only managed to kill 1 Sp, losing 2 themselves ðŸ˜± and El Cid and friends, having used both brilliant strokes on doubling pips, proved unstoppable once they finally got into contact!
