More pics from Pukekohe and game commentary - posted by Andrew Bennetts, 9 August 2022

Some more photos from Pukekohe last Sunday.

My Palmyrans played Gerard's Later Han Chinese in the morning while Ivan used Macedonians in a historical matchup against Al's Later Hoplite Greek Spartans.
As Ben reported, afternoon games were my Ottomans (ex-John Calnan) playing John's Ghaznavids, Ben's Minoans vs Al's Early Hoplite Greek Spartans and Ivan using Pre Feudal Scots (ex-Gerard) against Gerard's Han Chinese.
Some game commentary included in the photos.

Palmyran Cataphracts and LH overrun the Chinese flank

And swing inwards against the Chinese centre

A Chinese elephant is swarmed by Palmyran LH. Gerard's dice were rubbish all morning 🙁

The Chinese centre breaks to end the game

Al's Spartans form up

The Spartans manage to turn one end of the Macedonian phalanx

Pike and Spear clash along the line

But the Ghaznavids manage to stabilise the situation and the game eventually timed out.
But on the other flank their light troops are overwhelmed. 15-10 to Philip & Alexander

The Ottomans manage to turn the Ghaznavid flank
