My Persians are taking on Michael Stonyer’s Romans at the Hutt club on the 13th. I of course maintain that Darius’s troops are the prettiest

Very nice. How did you get the effect on the cloth horse covering?

      Gavin Pearson Mike texted:
“A base of Vallejo Black Green 70.980 mixed with a little black.
“Next layer, black green mixed with deep green 70.970 leaving creases and obvious recesses, blending outwardly with that one.
“Then pure deep green as a layer high light 💡
“Then pure deep green mixed into German Camo bright green 70.833 thinning it down a fair bit
Once I’ve got that far I look at the individual miniature and brighten the highlights to match your eye
“In this case the footsore horse 🐎 had excellent wrinkles which in my mind just call out for a little extra attention.
“Again in that last highlight I simply added a few more drops of German Camo bright green into the mix to brighten it up a bit.
“Although it sounds like a lot of work it very quick to do as you work to match your eye to create an effect
Your not picking out tiny details.
“I’ve sent you a photo to you without lighting that better shows what I’m trying to explain.
      “I hope that helps.”

“Tell Gavin always happy to help and swap ideas. I stole most of these formulas so as penance it’s only fair I should share then 🤣
