Middle Imperial Roman vs Gallic - posted by Ben Vartok, 10 December 2021

In Auckland a Dog Goes to Sleep Again....
And Benny's Gauls smash some (early) Middle Imperial Romans in another 240point Friday game. The Spanish ally proved unreliable with their first roll but were quickly convinced otherwise by the Gallic messaging service. The invading Romans got lost and had to deploy first, not ideal, but plenty of pips were available for a while.

A lot of ineffective blows with few results for almost half the game. Eventually though Gallic numbers along with Spaniards in one flank and ineffective Roman pressure on the other flank led to two commands breaking and a Gallic triumph.

Well, Ben, if you want to use these newfangled, post-true Imperial Romans you have to expect these sorts of setbacks.

Great game and many thanks to Ben for hosting once again - 240AP al fresco is proving a winner while the weather holds! The game size does tend to favour big, irregular armies however as regulars struggle to find the troops to fill what is a full size central sector.
