CALL TO ARMS 2021 DBMM Competition Update #1
Salutations gentlemen and players,
We have done very well with registrations and with extracting a few more tables from the Call to Arms organisers - the DBMM competition now has 11 tables, so everyone who has registered is IN the competition.
There are still two places available, for anyone who wanted to play but whose flank march was delayed.
The lineup so far:
Mr Foster, Mr Williamson (senior), Mr Lewis, Mr Stonyer, Mr Hill, Mr Barton, Rev Donald, Mr Bennetts, Mr Yaxley, Mr Morton, Mr Duncan, Mr Cholewa, Mr Ferguson, Mr Heinsius, Mr Trye, Herr Walk, Mr van den Hoeven, Mr Truong, Mr Norris and Mr Mabon.
Questions so far - the table size is 8 x 5 (not 6 x 5); yes, some of the terrain maps feature waterways; you need as a minimum 2 alternative 400AP lists for the same army, which is the default size for the competition; a couple of people have asked whether they can have armies from two widely different periods with the same Army List, ideally and morally they should be from the same period but technically and with cries of "shame!" you can use any variation available within an Army List.
I'm busy sorting out 11 sets of terrain for the tables, and I'll put out the call closer to the event for any extra items that are needed. Chalons and La Haye Sainte proved difficult tables to win on last year, so I'll likely do away with them. Note that one of the playing days is July 4th, so I think one of the battlefields should reflect such a momentous day for the world.
Otherwise, everything's going swimmingly so far, which is worrying when a basic principle of DBMM is "What could possibly go wrong".
Cheers,
