Had a game of 300 point DBMM at the pukekohe club with Mark Caunter. The cool kids were very nice and didn't even make fun of us for playing in 15mm.
Both armies were 2 commands with one of them being an Ally general (are you even playing WOTR if there is no chance of treachery?).
For once I was actually playing well. I rolled high pips on turn 1 and noticed I outflanked the Lancastrian CnCs command on my left with mine and what's more my whole front rank was bd (s) (dismounted men at arms) vs his bd(O) (bill). I spent all my pips marching my battle line up on the left advancing my right to cover it.
To make matters worse the Lancastrian ally general went unreliable!!!!!!!
The Lancastrians threw some light horse at my left to stop me but they were quickly dispatched by my hand gunners and Welsh knifemen (pk (F)). I had opened the Lancastrian right wide open!!!!!
I decided I had enough of an advantage I put my whole CnCs command in even though it was close enough to make the ally reliable again.
Then disaster struck. The king, leading my men at arms in the front rank went down in the melee meaning I didn't have enough pips to press my advantage.
I moved up my ally and decimated the Lancastrian ally generals archers with mine.
As the Lancastrian army was almost broken they launched a frontal charge with their CNC and a stand of men at arms (kn(O) and Kn(I)) into some of my double ranked longbows. It worked and I lost 4 stands of archers and, combined with the death of the king, my army broke.
It was a sad day for England and a dark Tudor cloud descended over the country.
An excellent game with lots of period flavour against a very enjoyable opponent.

Hey Joel many thanks for the enjoyable account of your game, especially 15mm. History repeated, Henry the regicide!
