A busy day at Pukekohe today saw 3 games of DBMM.
Mark and Joel fought a Wars of the Roses encounter in rarely sighted 15mm scale. Mark suffered early from an unreliable Ally (Stanley?) that seemed to give Joel the advantage up until his CinC was unhorsed ("a horse, a horse, the kingdom for a horse" he was heard to cry).
John's Teutonic Knights took on Wayne's Swiss, the latter having the advantage (15-10) when bad light stopped play, the Teutonic's suffering the indignity of having their baggage pillaged by Swiss pikemen!
Meanwhile Richard and I tested Livy's contention that the Romans would have beaten Alexander as my Polybian Romans took on Richard's Alex Imperials. It would seem that Livy and Polybios were correct as the Roman legionaries cut their way through the phalanx (although not without loss) while Alex's beloved Companions suffered a bad dose of the 1's against the Roman cavalry for a 23-2 to the men from Italy.
