Jewish Revolt list - posted by Potbelly Miniatures, 27 October 2022

I've been tinkering with Jewish Revolt lists for... reasons... so let me know what you think.
It's basically a warband army, but with an armed, fortified village in the middle of it. 95.5 elements, breaks on 48.

Not a comment on the possible efficacy of the army alas, but a general comment.
350+ infantry to paint seems a big ask.

Have you been using the army already? Some questions to ask are: how do you want to use the army on the tabletop? How do it’s aggression and terrain choices work for those tactics? What are threats to it and how to mitigate those?

Looking at the list Bk 2/59, I see why have chosen no mounted, I don’t know that choosing Josephus with 1-2 Irr Cv(I) would give you much.
I haven’t done any number crunching but more Hd(S) would be fun and might be useful.
Aggression 0 is a good start and the difficult hill being compulsory means you are not limited to only two pieces of DH. Defending with lots of DH will help.

Vincent Cholewa I guess the main reason for taking less Hd(S) is the impetuous, but if they're holding space on DH then it might not be too bad an option.

Potbelly Miniatures they are not impetuous if in difficult going and not yet moved.

+3 extra if rolling more and pointing downhill. No one will be taking that on voluntarily

Potbelly Miniatures not quite. +1 when defending uphill and +1 of defending and ending less than opponent. +2 when attacking and ending more than opponent. Breaking a tie when attacking is handy and never recoiling is great.

Vincent Cholewa The problem with a large defended area is that people will mostly ignore it, as defended by Hd(s) its virtually invulnerable. That means you channel the enemy into other areas, but this army has no killer troops to put in such kill zone…

I have used this army several times, admittedly using substitute figures for the Wb(f) and against Vince if he remembers. Jewish revolt list has 24-80 Hd(s) in it, unless I am reading wrong. Hd(s) are great for defending against Ax and Bd marginal aga…

I have used the Wb(f) zelots in one large command and a big Hd(s) command to occupy difficult terrain. Flanked by two large Ax(O) commands.
