Post match report, 1st instalment
Thanks to all players in this year's competition, a well-contested and often highly entertaining contest. We had streams dry up, more Franks than you could poke a stick at, an outpouring of Welsh nationalism, and an unreliable ally changing sides.
Special thanks
to Neil, Allen, Bruce, Graham and dirk for providing the extra terrain pieces,
to Craig and Allen for tolerating a slight mix-up with the draw, and to everyone for coping with the consequent change in table rotation
and to Peter Williamson for stepping in when Josh had to pull out on the second day.
The award for Best Opponent, voted by all the players in the competition, went to Craig Mabon.
The award for Best Presented Army, as judged by a panel of players and non-players, went to Dirk Heinsius' Middle Imperial Romans, narrowly ahead of Mike Thorn's Hussites. (Possible hidden caltrops were not counted for this award.)
The overall winner of the inaugural Brent Senior-Partridge trophy for 2020 was Richard Foster (Portuguese) with 82 points, just a smidgin (3 points) ahead of Alastair Donald (WoTR English) and Neil Williamson (Avars, 76 points).
The rest of the field in 4th place and listed alphabetically were:
Alastair Duncan 36pts
Allen Yaxley 8pts
Andrew Bennetts 66pts
Bruce Ferguson 47pts
Craig Mabon 31pts
David Kinzett 45pts
Dirk Heinsius 51pts
Graham Starkey 36pts
Jim Morton 38pts
Josh Barton (8) / Peter Williamson (24) 32pts
Keith Trye 55pts
Michael Stonyer 42pts

Philip Gates 50pts
Cheers,
Paul
