Early Byzantines vs Late Imperial Romans - posted by Vince Cholewa, 7 July 2025

Yesterday, in a Levin garage, my Early Byzantines played Chris Blackler’s eastern Late Imperial Romans. Chris needs new dice! You expect the command with the low PIPs to roll one or two most bounds, not every bound but one. There was also three ones for one bound’s PIPs. Combat? You guessed it! When Chris’s legionaries and superior auxiliaries finally closed with my line of inferior skoutatoi bravely refusing to move off their hill, his first three combat dice were all ones 🎲
