First games of the year at the Wellington Warlords - from Michael Stonyer, 6 January 2026

Michael Stonyer was at the Wellington Warlords on Saturday and sent these words and pics:

The first fights of the 2026 season were fought on Saturday. I lead the Turgesh with a Tibetan ally of knights X vs Barry Norris, Hatrene. Awesome fun!

When we called time in the mid afternoon, I had shattered Barry’s centre while he disheartened my right flank. Although I was ahead on points, Barry had the strategic advantage and would have eventually nailed me on the far left with his knights before my cavalry could regroup in the centre.

As always Barry is such a nice bloke to fight
