It's this weekend, the DBMM Levin competition, the armies and enemies of Imperial Rome! For the first round I have matched the four Roman armies against realistic opponents and, as much as possible, also matched you against people you don't play too often.
Wayne Watts, Early Imperial Roman vs Craig Mabon, Parthian
Phil Gates, Late Imperial Roman vs Keith Trye, Ostrogoths
Julian Hannam Late Imperial Roman vs Paul Graham, German tribes
Barry Norris, Late Imperial Roman vs Andrew Bennetts, Palmyran
Alastiar Duncan, Early German vs Neil Williamson, Dacian
The venue is the Levin Cosmopolitan Club, 47-51 Oxford Street (State Highway 1 through Levin), at the south end of town. There is lots of on-site parking through the Ward Street entrance. Please arrive at 8.30am to get ready for the first round. Free coffee and tea will be available. If you need breakfast, Raewyn's cafe is right next door and opens at 6am Saturday and Sunday. There is also the BP across the road if you fancy petrol station food. Please note, we cannot bring food from outside into the club. The cossie club restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and we have a special licence for the event so you can purchase adult beverages - please bring ID as you will be asked for proof of age if you look 25 or younger ...Graham Starkey, Parthian vs Peter Williamson, Huns
