Only 1 PIP for irregular clumsy element to short move - posted by Vince Cholewa, 3 March 2024

I learned something new just now, a single element move by an irregular clumsy element that moves short costs only 1 PIP; it is not a difficult evolution. That’s because p.27 PIP expenditure, (d) difficult evolutions, the second bullet point that says 1 extra PIP is expended for a short move starts with the words “Neither of a group’s front corners …” This bullet does not apply to single elements. Who knew? Not me!

However, the short move still has to be straight ahead or it will cost more PIPs.
