A question about conforming to a flank - asked by John Edmundson, 11 November 2023

A situation at the Hutt Valley club this afternoon, which revealed (again . . .) how easily I can forget rules. The Ps and Ax are facing and in contact following a pursuit.

The Cv cannot make this contact as it is not in front corner with either infantry element. It must EMTLU into legal contact with one or the other. So our dilemma - which faces in contact and which sits behind - does not arise. Thank you Mr Bennetts for the clarification.

Are the Ax and Ps in close combat or are they from the same army?

They're both from the same (Spanish) army. The Cv are Carthaginians, so the opposing army. An historical match :~)

John Edmundson in that case, the cavalry EMTLU the minimum extra to end lined up. If sliding to left or right is the same distance, I would expect the Carthaginian gets to choose. If the next bound is the Spanish players, then this could end with the foot element not contacted by the cavalry moving to hard flank the cavalry.
