2024 DBMM event schedule - posted by Andrew Bennetts, 5 September 2023

2024 Event Schedule
With Xmas not really that far away, I thought it was time to start planning what events I might attend next year and, more importantly, what painting will be required!
After emails with the usual suspects who organise such things, below is a rough sketch of how the NZ 2024 DBMM Events Calendar is looking. Exact dates are still vague but enough for broad planning.
  1. Greytown Grand Prix in February is at best a "maybe" at this stage.
  2. Easter is 29th March to 1 April and a possible date for the 2024 DBMM Nationals.
  3. Valleycon date to be confirmed but likely, 27th & 28th April as the closest weekend to ANZAC day. I'm also told there is a vacancy for a DBMM Competition Organiser 😉
  4. Kings Birthday Weekend 2nd, 3rd June is an alternative date for the DBMM Nationals.
  5. Levin Classic is again planned for Late July, theme to be announced.
  6. CTA likely to be late September, using Paul's well tried and popular fixed terrain format
  7. Heavy Metal in Pukekohe at Labour Weekend as usual - pick your own opponents in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere.
In addition it sounds like there will also be a number of smaller events such as the Hutt Club "Winter Cup", Neil's regular "Recoil" event and an inaugural "Auckland Cup".
So, with plenty of DBMM events to choose from, time to start earning brownie points with your better halves to aid future negotiations over weekends playing with Toy Soldiers 🙃

Hi Andrew thank you so much for herding cats and collating the information provided by the cats, cool ones 😎 😝
Late July looks good for the next themed event in Levin. I will get onto that and confirm the date and venue shortly. Likely to be the Levin Cossie Club again. For those so inclined we could look at breakfast as well as a dinner. Raewyn’s cafe is two doors away from the club and they open early to do breakfast for people travelling through town.

Thank you Andrew. Earned 10 brownie points the other day by support mall shopping for 10 hours. I now have 20 Billion Brownie points which I think equates to 30 minutes of gaming time.

Ben Vartok I know what you mean. The collapse of the brownie point exchange rate is a major concern in our household!

That's a lot of troops on that hill Andrew. Could it be a government that needs NZFirst as its coalition partner or is it just disorganised elephants in rough going?????
