I've just finished some Elephants and some Kushan cataphracts for my Graeco-Indian army. The figures are Aventine and to be honest are the nicest figures ive ever seen.Great sculpts and so nice to paint,I'm on horse archers now, also beautiful figures. Not cheap but worth it.Excuse my messy painting desk.

David BillinghurstWhat is this "messy painting desk" of which you speak? I can see some bare, naked, desktop and want to know how you achieve this effect?
Ben VartokThe Aventine figures are something else and you have done an excellent job! Have Early Carthies on my desk using lots of Aventine. The sculptor has put anatomical muscle detail on the legs of the riders, patella and quad muscles. Plus one rider has a
Kirk Douglas chin complete with nail hole.
John van den HoevenFootsore,Perry, Foundry etc are all great ranges but these are amazing. Only problem is I want to build a Hsiung nu army with their new Steppe cavalry range
Phil MalthusLovely job, John - really exquisite figures too, I can see
Bruce FergusonNice job. I'm more concerned about the large encyclopedia you have in the background taking up space, you are so last century John, we had that exact same set and got rid of it in the 90's.
PaulandHeidy Ó'CléirighI am glad you get enjoyment from wargaming Vince. My old boss is right into it to but I could never understand why and used to listen to his stories about where these figures came from and their battles and where and I was just polite haha! But I
certainly appreciate the art of painting.
John van den HoevenThat's very nice of you Vince, there's so many others like Che,Russell, Kelly, Mike etc etc who are fantastic painters
