Applying transfers to a curved shield - posted by Dirk Heinsius, 27 December 2020

Found a useful tip for applying transfers to a curved shield. A bit of blu tac wrapped in cling film to stretch the transfer over the shield. Scoring the back of the transfer with a knife helps as well.

Nice, might steal that blu tack idea as I usually use other end of a brush or fingers to smooth the transfer. Personally I think scoring is the key, I do around 4 score lines and find the application much easier with the resulting flex in the paper. And for curved or not. Ben

  • Oh and probably common knowledge, I use the aluminum tape from hardware stores for the lbms flags, paint it white and away you go, cuts with scissors and stronger than paper.
