Recoil game 6, against Graham's Galatians. Lots of bd(I) and cav(o), easy prey for the longbow... in theory anyway. He also had 2 warband, which I still have a complex about.
Given the warband I deployed 2 of the knight mounted, alongside the King their job would be to kill the warband, while the bow took out the blade.
The bow certainly took out the blade - 4 elements in turn 1, 3 more in turn 2 and by then it was pretty much all over.
More positively for Graham, his high pips allowed him to maneuver the warband away from my knights and into a superior blade. Which they duly killed (because of course they did!). The king's guard responded, charging into the warband, double overlapping them... and sticking! 5 plays 2 with a quick kill.it was irrelevant though, the bow disheartened two commands that bound putting Graham close to breaking.
On his last bound the blade finally killed a bow and the gun, giving him 2 points. His army broke at the same time but the king, now 5 vs 1 STILL failed to kill the warband and, despite my demands to contine until the warband died we called it - a 23-2 win for the English.
This was another comfortable match up for the English and there wasn't much he could do about it. Still it's always great to play Graham, especially with Dirk in the cheap-seats throwing abuse at the English.
Still have a complex about warband though!
