CALL TO ARMS Update #3
Thank you to all the competition entrants for getting your lists in. We can now reveal the line up for the competition:
Andrew Bennetts New Kingdom Egyptians
Vince Cholewa Later Polish
Tilman Dang Italian Condotta
Raymond Dick Nikephorian Byzantine
Alastair Donald WOTR English
Alastair Duncan Philistines
Bruce Ferguson Later Hungarians
Richard Foster Medieval Portuguese
Dirk Heinsius Middle Imperial Romans
Ben Hill Early Crusaders
Gary Lewis Later Carthaginians
Craig Mabon Pre-Feudal Scots
Jim Morton Bactrian Greeks
Peter Noble Sumerians
Barry Norris Ottoman Turks
Michael Stonyer Middle Imperial Romans
Ivan Truong Middle Imperial Romans
Keith Trye Anglo-Normans

Allen Yaxley Norse Irish
No pikes, no Parthians, and only 3 middling Romans this year.
One of the 12 battlefields for the competition listed below will have to be dropped, depending on how I'm going with terrain pieces. I'll put out the call for any pieces still outstanding closer to the day, I already have a few handy and generous offers from some of the Warlords club members. The club has splashed out on extra 8 x 5 tables too, so that all 11 of our tables will be the right size.
Qadesh 1274BC
Marathon 490BC
Cannae 216BC
Zama 202BC
Milvian Bridge 312AD
Chalons 451AD
Yarmouk 636AD
Poitiers 732AD
Hastings 1066AD
Nicopolis 1396AD
Fornovo 1495AD
and a July 4th special from 1876AD

For this competition, we traditionally do the draw on the first morning, Visitors vs Locals.

All battlefields that are like Pot Black, playing on a snooker table, are fine by me!

Vincent Cholewa The Bactrian Greeks will probably include pike, and the Medieval Portuguese and Italian Condotta may, depending on date and (in the case of the Italians) city-state. According to the army list, the Bactrian Greeks don't have to have pik…

John van den Hoeven I did spot that, but as it was quite date-specific I thought you may well not have any. Tilman Dang's response indicates I was correct with my assumption that the Italian Condotta are likely to have Pk. They have every time I've eve…

Craig Mabon You have seen my army and whisper in hostile ears what you have seen? Publicly conveying more classified information wont help your case once our inquisitor of latin grammar school fame gets hold of you!

Tilman Dang I don't think I have seen your army. I played Wayne's Italian Condotta at the Greytown Grand Prix and I've seen Phil's Italian Condotta a couple of times. I just surmised from there.
