Michael Stonyer reports on the two games at the Wellington Warlords on Saturday [16 November 2024].
Raymond Pearce, new to DBMM, used his Welsh vs
Paul Graham’s Pyrrhic. In a sad repetition of history (well, not the bit about the little known Pyrrhic invasion of Wales), Pyrrhus did not survive and the Welsh won.
Mike says about his game, Middle Imperial Roman vs Middle Imperial Roman: For once the history is written by the vanquished. Yet another civil war from the third
century and yet another emperor succeeds the other emperor. And, Rome the inevitable victor.
Another excellent fight to death on a sunny Saturday afternoon with the mighty Mark Pickup. A true gentleman and the winner.

Sitting, Raymond Pearce (Welsh) vs Paul Graham (Pyrrhic) in the green sweater. They were ably advised by Craig Ellison, Barry Norris and Graham Starkey.
Julian HannamThose sneaky Welsh sheep flank marchers that nobody ever expected! Looks great guys!

Mark Pickup one of the Emperors surveys his (?) empire.

“There, my lord, is your enemy; there are your guns.” or words to that effect. One of Michael Stonyer’s Middle Imperial Roman generals.

Andrew BennettsWas there a suitable “Valley of Death” for the Roman LH to charge down?
Vincent CholewaNot sure but the grey, out of focus blob in the background is Mark's tower with artillery in it. That was the bolt shooter to right of them
Russell BriantAnd over there is a darling little taverna that serves these simply devine stuffed fig-leaves. The owner, Supersillius, is an absolute riot….
From The Decline and Fall of The Roman Empire.

Paul GrahamPyrrhus, the XVIIth of his name, has now succeeded to the Epirot throne and looks for new lands and opponents.
Phil Malthusthis is outrageous. Everyone knows the Irish killed Pyrrhus
