Alastair contemplating a now unreliable ally on his right flank |

The set up: Rome first with stratagems of delayed battle and ...... a Roman flank march to come |
Another perspective of early in the game |
To avoid becoming impetuous,The ordinary Roman warband shelters on the difficult hill while a border legion takes the onslaught of the German warband |
The German heavy cavalry wheels away from the flank and attacks the Roman left centre. Meanwhile the Roman legion flank march arrives on the German right flank with only the now immobilised unreliable ally facing the wrong way to oppose them. It's anyone's game. Sadly I had to leave at this point. The fight briefly adjourned for lunch. An awesome and cunning fight. |
