The simply incredible bronze Corinthian Type "Helmet of Miltiades" the Athenian General who defeated the Persians at the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC. The inscription on the lip of the helmet cheek section reads in #Greek "Miltiades dedicated to Zeus" This was common practice after a significant victory in battle to offer something of extreme importance to Zeus, in this case the helmet worn by Miltiades is just about as significant as you would find. The helmet was discovered in the Temple of Zeus at Olympia and thankfully, it is proudly displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, #Greece. It is without question a 'National Treasure' of the #Greek people.
