Ghaznavids vs Han Chinese, and other games from Pukekohe - posted by Ben Vartok, 4 September 2022

Pukekohe Today - Three DBMM games played. Gerard and his Han Chinese (Bk2) vs my newly returned Ghaznavids. Yes the prodigal army has returned after much diplomatic activity (whinging) on my part. They will be added to and morphed into Timurids at somepoint.
Other games today were Ivan vs Al with a late medieval stoush and Noel vs Richard Foster, Romans vs I am not sure....oh thats right Richard III with an Inert Stanley sub general. Not sure of their results as both games started 11am and we kicked off at 9.30am.
So the Han were to be invaded but nicely rolled a 1 for deployment and as a result the Ghaznavids deployed first. I set out the Elephants far forward with the intention to fight fight fight!
Han superior artillery lined up the circus performers and let fly but 4 shots later had not hit a single elephant. The Elephants were running the gauntlet with very few pips ( 1/2/2, 1/2/2, 1/1/1 were the first three bounds for me). Finally their luck ran out and in a one bound artillery got one and PS got another. The other two elephants did some cheering but not much else.
Knife Edge, hanging in the balance, poised, cliche, cliche etc. It was very close game then the Ghaznavid Superior Cavalry got hold of one Han Fast Knight General after another, eventually dealing to all three of them and breaking the Han.

18 - 7 to the Ghaznavids, thanks for the game Gerard.

was a fun game that went to the wire. Experimenting with 3x RKn(f) gens. All died to cavS when they got in first lol. Needs a bit more play testing 🙂
